A Safer Community Starts Here

What is the Pedestrian Safety Study?

The Dexter/Near North Business District Pedestrian Safety Study is a community-driven initiative that aims to identify areas with infrastructure deficiencies, engage the community, and prioritize improvements that make streets safer and more accessible. Supported by the federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program and led by the City of Prescott, this initiative focuses on reducing and ultimately eliminating crashes involving pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users. This study is focused on the Dexter/Near North Business District; the interactive comment map below reflects the study area.

We appreciate the public’s continued input and participation throughout this study. Feedback received to date has been incorporated into the final Existing Conditions and Safety Analysis report and has helped inform the project team’s draft safety recommendations. We are now asking for your input on potential safety treatments within the study area, which have been developed to better accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians. An interactive map is available below, where you can review the draft recommendations, drop pins, and add comments on specific locations or proposed improvements. Please use the map’s ‘Legend’ button to learn more about each map symbol and better understand the recommended safety treatments. In addition, the ‘Submit a Comment’ button at both the top and bottom of this page will take you to a one-question survey where you may provide feedback on the safety recommendations separately from the interactive map, if preferred. Thank you for taking the time to review these materials and share your input on safety recommendations.

Project reports are accessible via this webpage and may be viewed using the ‘View Existing Conditions Report’ and ‘View Draft Safety Recommendations Report’ buttons below.
